At the beginning of the 20th century, Casablanca was a “frenetic” city, an open-air laboratory of architecture and urban planning, a place of invention and exceptional modernity. In the era of the French Protectorate it was a boomtown that attracted capital from all over the world, and received an outpouring of many avant-garde architectural styles (Art Nouveau,Moorish, Art Deco, Functionalism, Hygienisme, etc.).It is a physical testament to the multicultural creative ingenuity that shaped it.
